The Khmer Empire Timeline 

802 C.E

Indravarman I becomes king. the order to construct Preah Ko and Bakhong temples are given.

877 C.E

Jayavarman II is crowned ruler till 850 C.E. Jayavarman discovers Angkor.
Yashovarman I is crowned king and rules until 900 C.E. Lolei, Indratataka, and Eastern Baray are completed. Phnom Bakheng temple is built.

889 C.E

899 C.E

Yasovarman I becomes king and rules until 917 C.E. the capital city Yasodharapura was established.
Jayavarman IV takes the throne and builds the capital at Lingapura.

928 C.E

Rajendravarman takes the throne and builds the Eastern Mebon.

944 C.E

967 C.E

Delicate Banteay Srei temple was built.

968-1000 C.E 

1002 C.E

Western Baray reservoir finished.

- Udayadityavarman II takes throne and builds Baphuon.

 

- Suryavarman II crowned king, rules until 1150 and designs Angkor Wat.

Mahidharapura Dynasty founded by Jayavarman VI who builds Phimai temple.

1050 C.E

Jayavarman V takes the throne, they started to work on the Ta Keo temple but wasn't complete. 

Suyavarman I wins the civil war, rules until 1050.

1181 C.E

1060 C.E

1113 C.E

1220 C.E

1186 C.E

1200 C.E

1080 C.E

Ankor Thom was Built as the new capital and they also built temple at Bayon.​

Jayavarman VII was famous for defeating Chams and becomes king. Jayavarman VII orders the Angkor empire to attack the Chams capital in reprisal in 1991.

 

Jayavarman VII dies​

Jayavarman VII constructs Ta Prohm in honor of his Mother. Jayavarman VII dedicates Preah Khan to his Father.

 

Angkor was attacked by the Chams and was partially burned also the Khmer king was killed.

 

Angkor Wat construction begins.​

1393 C.E

1327 C.E

1352 C.E

1296 C.E

Chinese chronicler Zhou Daguan visits Angkor and records daily life of the Khmer citizens in the capital.

Angkor was attacked again.

End of classical Khmer era and the last stone engravings.

Angkor was attacked by Ayutthaya Thais.

Angkor was abandoned after the invasion by Siam, some monks still used the site.
