The Khmer empire was a civilization that fell its greatest legacy is Angkor, today’s Cambodia, which was the site of the capital city. The majestic monuments of Angkor like the Angkor Wat and Bayon are the only things to remember it by. The Khmer for its culture and tourism as well as wet rice agriculture.

Human Impact on environment

For example pollution and especially cutting trees really started to disintegrate the Khmer empire, what is quite uncanny is that they were basically ruining their society by themselves and couldn’t realise it.

 

Climate Change

As weather changed it was very hard for the people of the Khmer Empire especially the farmers to go on with everyday life. Climate change made it quite difficult for everyone to adapt and proceed with day-to-day life. Although Climate change really made it all the more problematic for farmers and hunter-gatherers as they were unable to gather and collect the needed for the people.  

 

Relationships with Friends

As an Empire you will have many allies and partners that you trade and negotiate with, but eventually as climate change and human impact kicks in the Khmer empire financial stability starts to slope down and sooner or later the empire faces and financial change and is unable to pay of its debts and is unable to trade with its associates. Due to this issue you relationships with friends stop and cannot trade anymore

 

Relationships with Enemies

As well as having friends, The Khmer Empire had a lot of enemies and as this civilisation is starting to fall other empires start to rise in money, power and control. Also as the empire starts to weaken severely, it enables hostiles to invade and attack quite easily and effortlessly.

 

Political, Social and Cultural Values

The Khmer Empire in order to change or just survive from its downfall really needed to change the way the society was existing and in was unknown and extremely strange for a civilisation to change the way they live their everyday lives they were just unable to adapt this is because the Khmer Empires Political, Social and Cultural Values have existed from day one and haven’t changed. In conclusion due to all of the dreadful issues of the Khmer Empire and culture could not survive.
